Description

Modelling wax is simply a formulation of wax that is soft enough to be easily modelled by hand. It is usually supplied in solid block form and the wax readily softens with the heat and action of being worked between the fingers.

Directions for Use

• Prepare Workspace: Ensure the working area is clean and well-lit. Assemble sculpting tools, a heating source, and safety gear.

• Heat the Wax: Warm the wax gently (45–55°C) until it becomes soft and workable. Avoid overheating to maintain its integrity.

• Shape and Mould: Use sculpting instruments to mould the softened wax into the required form—crowns, bridges, bite blocks, or prosthetic patterns.

• Refine Details: Carve and contour the wax to achieve accurate anatomy and smooth surfaces.

• Cool and Set: Allow the wax pattern to cool naturally or with a cooling aid to prevent distortion.

• Final Adjustments: Once set, refine any imperfections and ensure dimensional accuracy.

• Proceed to Fabrication: Use the finished wax-up for further laboratory processes such as investing or casting.

• Storage: Keep unused wax in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
