Ivoclar Monobond Etch & Prime Ceramic Primer 5gm is single-component self-etching ceramic primer designed for glass-ceramic restorations. By combining the etching and silanating steps into one, it significantly shortens the conditioning process while eliminating the need for hydrofluoric acid. This makes it safer, easier, and more reliable for clinicians. It effectively cleans saliva and silicone residues, ensuring a contamination-free surface for strong adhesion. The formulation reacts with glass-ceramic to create a durable bond, especially when used with Variolink® Esthetic adhesive cement. Compatible with leading glass-ceramic systems such as IPS e.max CAD, IPS e.max Press, and IPS Empress CAD, Monobond Etch & Prime ensures superior performance in adhesive cementation workflows, enhancing long-term restoration success.

Directions for Use

Preparation of pre-treated and non pre-treated silicate ceramic
restorations
–

• Following try-in, thoroughly rinse the restoration with water spray
  and dry with oil- and moisture-free air.
• Apply Monobond Etch & Prime onto the bonding surface using a
  microbrush and agitate it into the surface for 20 seconds using
  light pressure. Allow to react for another 40 seconds.
• Thoroughly rinse off Monobond Etch & Prime with water until the
  green colour has been removed. If any residue remains in microporosities after rinsing, the restoration may be cleaned with water
  in an ultrasonic unit for up to 5 minutes.
• Dry the restoration with a strong stream of oil- and moisture-free
  air for approx. 10 second

Note: Restorations preconditioned in the lab may be reconditioned with Monobond Etch & Prime if needed
