GDC Vista Tunneling Procedure Instrument
Vista tunneling instrument is designed for root coverage to treat Miller’s Class I and II gingival recession defects. The first incision is made at the base of the sulcus, then the attachment is severed from the osseous crest, raising the mucoperiosteal pouch with a subperiosteal dissection and follow with a curette.
VISTA Stands for Vestibular Incision Subperiosteal Tunneling Access. The vestibular incision subperiosteal tunnel access (VISTA) technique offers a minimally invasive approach for the treatment of multiple recession defects, also it allows for the fixation of gingival margins, thereby preventing its
apical relapse in the initial stages of healing.

Directions for Use
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize the instrument before use
- Assess gingival recession and plan VISTA approach
- Administer local anesthesia at the surgical site
- Create a vestibular incision at the base of the sulcus
- Insert the instrument to initiate subperiosteal tunneling
- Gently elevate mucoperiosteal tissue from the osseous crest
- Extend the tunnel across affected recession sites carefully
- Use controlled movements to avoid tissue trauma
- Follow with a curette if required for tissue refinement
- Reposition gingival margins coronally for root coverage
- Stabilize the tissue to prevent apical relapse during healing
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize the instrument after use
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Must clean after every use with warm water to remove blood, tissues, and mucus from the instruments.
- Ultrasonic cleaning is recommended for all the instruments specially articulated instruments such as forceps, rongeurs, etc.
