Description

Dental Impression tray Edentulous Perforated is used to take a negative imprint of the alveolar ridge and soft tissues in the mouth from which a positive reproduction (cast or model) can be formed. Impression material is of liquid or semi-solid nature when first mixed and placed in the mouth. It then sets to become an elastic solid (usually takes a few minutes depending upon the material), leaving an imprint of a person’s alveolar ridge and surrounding structures of the oral cavity.

The Impression Trays are of 2 main types:

• Dentulous: These are trays that are used to take impressions of people with teeth or of a dentulous mouth.
• Edentulous: These are trays that are used to take impressions in an edentulous mouth or a patient without teeth.

They are again divided into two types, based on the presence of perforations in it:

• Perforated: There are small perforations or holes in the tray.
• Non-Perforated: There are no perforations in the trays as they are used to carry impression materials that are not rigid Ex. Alginate.

Directions for Use

• Confirm that the tray is cleaned before use.
• Soak the tray in hot water (within the range of 70-80oC) for 10 to 20 seconds.
• Take out the tray, and adjust the size and the angle with your hands according to the oral and dental status of the patient.
• When the patient has some deformed teeth, the size of individual portions shall be adjusted especially.
• Put the adjustable tray into the mouth of the patient and confirm whether he/she is comfortable with it or not.
• If the patient is not comfortable, please repeat step 2 & 3 and adjust it accordingly till the patient feel the tray is comfortable in his/her mouth.
• Inject impression materials or silicon rubber into the final adjustable tray, put the tray into the mouth of the patient, and then get the impression.
