Description

The GDC Bone Graft Carrier (BC14615) is a stainless-steel hand instrument designed for atraumatic delivery of particulate dental bone grafts into extraction sockets, guided bone regeneration (GBR) defects and sinus lift sites. The hollow tip holds and releases graft particles in controlled volumes, preserving particle integrity and minimising spillage so the operator can fill the defect cleanly without over-compressing the material.

Directions for Use

• Sterilization: Ensure that the carrier is properly sterilized before use to maintain aseptic conditions
• Gather Materials: Have your bone graft material ready, whether it’s autogenous bone, allograft, or synthetic graft material
• Access the Donor Site: If using autogenous bone, prepare the donor site (e.g., from the jawbone) using appropriate surgical instruments
• Load the Carrier: Use the scoop end of the carrier to collect bone graft material from the donor site.Carefully scoop up enough material to fill the carrier without overloading it
• Positioning: Hold the carrier securely by its handle. Position the tip of the carrier at the surgical site where you intend to place the bone graft
• Dispensing: Tilt or maneuver the carrier to allow the bone graft material to flow out of the tip into the desired area. Control the dispensing to ensure precise placement of the graft material
• Pack and Distribute: After dispensing, use additional instruments (like a bone packer) if necessary to ensure even distribution and proper packing of the graft material at the site
• Cleaning and Sterilization: After use, clean and sterilize the carrier according to your clinic’s protocols to ensure it is ready for future procedures
