Directions for Use

• Label the Indicator: Write the sterilizer number, load number, and processing date on the biological indicator.
• Place in Sterilizer: Pack the indicator with materials to be sterilized. Place it in areas considered most difficult for the sterilizing agent (e.g., center of the load or near the door).
• Run Sterilization: Proceed with the sterilization cycle as usual.
• Remove After Sterilization: After the process finishes, open the sterilizer door, wait for 5 minutes, and carefully remove the biological indicator. Use safety glasses and gloves to avoid injury from a potential ampoule burst.
• Check Chemical Indicator: Ensure the chemical indicator on the label changes color to confirm steam exposure. Note: This does not confirm sterility.
• Crush the Ampoule: Use an ampoule crusher to crush the ampoule inside the indicator. Shake the tube vigorously to mix the medium with the spore carrier.
• Incubate: Place the biological indicator in the incubator at 55-62°C. Incubate for up to 24 hours, checking for color changes every 10 hours.
• Read Results: A color change from purple to yellow indicates sterilization failure. No color change after 24 hours means successful sterilization.
• Positive Control: Run a non-sterilized positive control with each cycle to ensure accurate incubation conditions.
